Butterfly tessellation

by Vicky X of Glasgow, Scotland

Teachers, take heed: this is a very clean, ideal example of a tessellation that repeats via the translation (slide) method In the Heesch system, Vicky's tessellation is called TTTT. In zoology and gardening, this kind of tessellation is called "more butterflies than flowers in the garden". In the art world, this is called "Good Stuff".

Vicky used the tracing paper method, my favorite, to make this tessellation.
