Here's a place where, as in many tessellations, I'd like to see more evidence that the artist played with the outline to make it look MORE like the theme-- in this case, more like the shape of the 48 contiguous states of America. Maine looks OK, but Texas and Florida have shaved their beards and a few Great Lakes didn't show up for their picture to be taken. Still, this is a first effort, and it is a picture-perfect tessellation if we call it abstract.
