ONE STAR FOR A UNITED NATION
by Ali F.
This tessellation shows translational (slide) symmetry.
The flag shapes-- the "tiles" (tile = the shape that repeats, in a tessellation)-- repeat perfectly & fit with all the other tiles, without gaps or overlaps. That's what a proper tessellation does.
The shape is a little abstract, but flags DO wave in the wind like this, so this is a good realistic tessellation. Well done, Ali of Oklahoma. By the way, Texas wants their flag back.
