KISSING AMOEBAS by math student Matthew Bergeon
at Lone Tree Elementary School in Colorado

Amoebas, monsters, and aliens are popular, easy subjects for tessellation art. Click here to find out why that's so in a fun, funny essay with lots of illustrations.

Math Enrichment teacher Annette Bergeon writes,
"Matthew created this picture using the Papercut Method of tessellation creation, modified by Jan Miller, as explained on your website, Tessellations.org. I used this method with all 48 students in my Math Enrichment classes. It is almost foolproof and resulted in several really creative and interesting pieces of art.

"Matthew is part of a math enrichment group at Lone Tree Elementary and created this artwork during class time."
