Escher style Geometry Art from Leigh Davis's Elementary School class in Lubbock, Texas

face motif, first-time tessellation art by a child math student a first-time tessellation with a head and face theme

by Jiwon C.

This is tessellation shows "slide/glide/translation" symmetry.

It has a head/face theme, which is very common in first-time tessellations. There are a lot of subtle things here that are even better than usual first-time tessellations. Notice that internal lines-- details-- are thin lines, but borderlines are thick. That's a smart move.

Also, Jiwon uses the hair to make easy the hard job of fitting tessellation "tiles" together. Click here to read more ways to make tessellation easier.
