Nathan says, "I saw the shape and I thought about footballs that you couldn't see the bottoms of and that was my idea."

Technically, a tessellation should not have, or suggest, any overlapping parts. However, this is a first-time effort, so let's just sit back and enjoy the half-time show rather than bother the referees.
