Tessellated Clown Ball
Seth Bareiss made this 12-sided "Clown Ball" from cardboard in the spring of 2007.
The ball is about 13 centimeters wide. It is a "dodecahedron": a sphere made from 12 pentagon-shaped sides.
A pentagon is a 2D shape with 5 equal sides and 5 equal angles connecting its sides.
The cardboard is the ordinary stuff which comes with freshly dry-cleaned shirts.
If prompted by this site's fans, I'll upload a tutorial and a do-it-yourself coloring book version which you can print out and glue together.
Below the dodecahedrons is a slab of green soapstone, which I carved into a tessellation of four chess knights. Sadly, I don't have photos of that completed carving.
