Fish are a popular, easy theme for tessellation art. Click here to find out why that's so.
Gail writes, "To make this tessellation, I used a 4 inch square, hand drawn, 2 side scissor cut , then drew it on a 16 x 20 canvas and painted it with acrylics.
"I learned how to make tessellations in a math workshop as a 2nd grade teacher many years ago.
"I never got to teach tessellations to my students, but enjoyed playing around with different cuts to see how everything fits together so nicely. I am teaching remedial math to community college students now at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, LA 71111.
"I won't be able to teach tessellations in my classes, but I will certainly share with them what I have done and encourage those who like math and art combined, to give it a try."
