Other well known geometric shapes that will tessellate are parallelograms. Parellelograms are a set of shapes which includes diamonds (also called "rhomboids") and rectangles and other shapes. Note that the parallelograms can be squashed or tall or thick or thin, it makes no difference to their ability to tessellate. Tessellating parallelograms could even have alternate rows tipped the other way.
